DMI blogger and DMI Fellow Maureen Lane will be on Air America at 10:45pm est. tonight so listen in.

The Department of Health and Human Services' is planning to release a new federal definition for what will count as adequate "work" in order to receive welfare benefits. DMI Fellow Maureen Lane has issued a statement on the impact that these new rules could have on poor people's ability to simultaneously receive welfare benefits and get the education and training they need to actually achieve lasting economic security.
