Elana Levin

Elana Levin is Communications Manager at the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy and is Managing Editor of the DMIblog. Working as an activist and community organizer, Elana found her calling doing PR in the progressive movement. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in 2001 and working in the art industry, Elana volunteered on Howard Dean's Presidential campaign, an experience that inspired her to change career paths. Since then she has worked on state and local political and issue campaigns, serving most recently as the Volunteer Coordinator for former ACLU lawyer Norman Siegel's Public Advocate campaign. She has worked on everything from political street theater to neighborhood organizing and hosts the Drinking Liberally chapter in Williamsburg Brooklyn. She also serves on the steering committee of Blogging Liberally, a group for progressive bloggers in the NYC area.
