“Which Way For the Working Class?”

Too often the views and experiences of working people don’t get the attention they deserve. But—cross-promotion alert!—a panel this Friday, September 24, from 3-5 p.m. at Cooper Union’s Great Hall (oooh, how stately!) in New York City will ask the important question, “Which Way For the Working Class?" and a group of distinguished journalists, labor leaders, and progressive activists will offer answers. (Wait, when? Oh, it’s that late-afternoon “meeting” already on the Outlook calendar that can’t be rescheduled and will be fun and memorable, right? Yes, exactly!) Participants include Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor and publisher of The Nation; Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO; Karen Nussbaum, executive director of Working America; Eric Alterman, journalist and senior fellow at the Center for American Progress; and Bob Herbert, opinion columnist at The New York Times. It’s free and open to the public. For more details, go here.
