Andrea Speaks at Roosevelt Institution Conference on the New Deal

Andrea will be speaking at a conference hosted by the Roosevelt Institution celebrating the 75th anniversary of the New Deal. Other speakers include Bernie Sanders, Rosa DeLauro, Bob Borosage, Bob Kuttner, and Jonathan Alter. According to the Roosevelt Institution,

"Join the Roosevelt Institution in celebrating the 75th anniversary of the New Deal. On April 9, in partnership with the Campaign for America’s Future, the Drum Major Institute, the Economic Policy Institute, and many others we’re bringing together policymakers, media representatives, historians, elected officials, labor leaders and practitioners to examine the relevance of the New Deal to the 21st century, to explore lessons from FDR's administration, and to discuss what shape the changing social contract will take in the years to come. Given the recent turmoil in the financial markets and the historic presidential election, the conference could not be timelier."

The conference will be held on Wednesday, April 9, in Washington, D.C. and is free. More information is available on the Roosevelt Institution website.

The Nation also has a special issue commemorating the anniversary of the New Deal. Click here to read Andrea's op-ed, titled "A Chaos of Experimentation."
