Mike Klein

Mike Klein is an accomplished manager in government operations, issue related advocacy and a skilled practitioner in urban affairs. Just back from assisting a delegation of business and civic leaders to help promote New Orleans tourism, Mike Klein currently serves as Senior Advisor to Tonio Burgos & Associates, a public policy consulting firm that specializes in strategic planning, government and legislative affairs, growth and crisis management and offers an expert practice in transportation, infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, economic development, health care and tourism.

Over the last 17 years, Mike has worked in a range of positions in public policy, including the White House ONDCP, former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, Congressman Charles Rangel, and former New York City Councilman Stan Michels. Additionally, he has served in several senior management positions -- as Chief of Recreation for the NYC Parks Department and as Deputy County Executive for Parks, Public Works and Partnerships for Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi. In the non-profit arena, he was the Senior Policy Director and Deputy Director for The Parks Council, where he developed and became campaign manager for the Parks 2001 Campaign. He is a graduate of the NYC leadership Institute.
