NY Taxi Strike Coverage Blog Roundup

OnNYTurf has an update on the New York Taxi Workers Alliance's strike.

The blog also offers some interesting thoughts on the Mayor's response to the strike.

The main reason the taxi drivers are striking is over a new city requirement that they install GPS devices, credit card machines and advertisement screens in their cabs called "Passenger Information Monitors"

Nancy Scola on The Albany Project
investigates what taxi riders do or don't get out of the deal and what the privacy implications of the monitors will be (good discussion in the comments section bellow the fold).

Juan Gonzalez of the New York Daily News 's column today is entitled "A battle for cabbies' souls" about the conflict between the anti-strike New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers and the pro-strike Taxi Workers Alliance. Do you have a blog post or news article on the strike to recommend? Send it my way.
