All Eyes on Hazelton
Beware, the days of Orwell's dystopic vision of Big Brother everywhere have arrived.
Furtunately, a judge has an opportunity to stave off the day where ordinary folks are forced to police each other for the government.
Today a trial begins about the constitutionality of a local law passed in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. The law tries to turn landlords and employers into immigration agents, and penalizes them for renting apartments to, or hiring, undocumented immigrants. The problem is that these employers and landlords have no training, and no capacity to tell who is and who is not in the country legally. In fact, even trained employees of the Department of Homeland Security make mistakes.
The new law in Hazelton, encourages discrimination against all immigrants, both documented and undocumented. It is a irresponsible attempt to shift the burden of governing and policing to ordinary citizens. It endangers immigrant families. Hopefully, the ACLU will win their case challenging it's constitutionality.

I have a couple of questions and I hope someone can answer it for me. Question 1 - Is it not the responsibility of the Local Government to protect it's citizens? The Local Government is over the Police department and they are there to protect and serve. The town of Hazelton know the law and the will of the people, so they are just enforcing the law that was set forth by our Federal Government. Question 2 - Can not our Local Government enforce the law set forth by our Ferderal Government? ACLU, you do not represent the voice of the majority and we the people of the United States will fight you to the end and you can take that to the Bank of America.

1. Local law enforcement (your town cops) CANNOT enforce federal law. Why? The US Congress, George Bush, and his loyal legal beaner Gonzales will not give local police the power to enforce federal law. Did you vote for Bush? Then it is your fault!!!
2. The Bank of America and Bush's big business political contributors are both making lots of money by exploiting the underclass of illegal aliens who cannot complain lest they be deported. The ACLU is also a money making (should I say 'for profit') organization who doesn't give a damn about lower and middle class working people being mugged and murdered on the street, paying more for medical insurance and taxes as long as they make a 'profit'.
