Immigrants’ labor rights: is Spitzer a DMIBlog reader?
Here is a great verdict from New York State's highest court--undocumented workers can sue their employers for lost wages if they are hurt on the job
And it's also starting to look like New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is reading the DMIblog! A letter to the editor The Drum Major Institute wrote about the court case that ran in the NY Sun (mentioned here) makes the same point that Spitzer argued in the case: "That barring lost wage claims would make it more financially attractive to hire illegal aliens, undercut federal policy and provide less of an incentive for companies to comply with state labor laws."
DMI has lots to say on how supporting the labor rights of immigrants helps all workers so, if Spitzer or any of our other readers would like more, it's all here.
