Community Benefit Agreements - Who is the community and what is the benefit?

Earlier this week, DMI Fellow Adrianne Shropshire wrote in "Development, Development Everywhere" about the role of Community Benefit Agreements in community economic development.

On March 13, the New York City Bar Association is organizing a discussion entitled: "Community Benefit Agreements - Who is the community and what is the benefit?"

This issue is clearly critical to the larger conversation about how we consider the community when we do economic development.

Why are you shilling for this? Did you see the line-up? All except one (CB9) are developer lobbyists or apologists. Even CB9 isn't really opposed to CBAs. This is what Crains does ... puts together a stacked forum to seek some legitimacy in the public policy. Why don't you go further and get Steve Cuozzo to report on it, Greg David to opine. Don't you think for a New Yor minute that any developer will want to throw some money at anyone who can be bought off to get clear sailing for a project?

Is this a progressive blog?
