DMI Blog

Welcome to the DMI Blog

Welcome to the DMIBlog, a conversation about politics, policy, and the American Dream.

DMIBlog is sponsored by the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy. We are a non-partisan, non-profit policy think tank providing ideas that fuel the progressive movement.

DMIBlog aims to do the same. We want to facilitate a substantive conversation about policy that isn't naíve to politics -- but isn't driven by it, either.

We believe you can change the conversation by changing who participates in it, and so the DMI fellows form our core blog team. The Fellows don't spend their days in ivory towers -- they are out there in the trenches fighting for social change.

This week, Tom Watson, muckraking journalist, blogger and Internet pioneer, and Rinku Sen, Publisher of Color Lines magazine, devoted to covering the politics and creations of communities of color, will join us as guest bloggers.

And hopefully, you'll join us as well. This blog is a laboratory for ideas. We already know the power of Blogs to take down politicians; now let's explore the power of Blogs to take on the tired orthodoxies of the right...and the left.

The Drum Major Institute is a think tank dedicated to doing think tank business differently. And we hope, with your help, our blog will do the same.

See you in the blogosphere.
