Andy Bernstein

Andy Bernstein helped found HeadCount in 2004, and has spearheaded the organization's dramatic growth and success. He continues to play a central role in charting HeadCount's overall direction. Prior to creating HeadCount, Andy was best known in the music community as an author of "The Pharmer's Almanac," a guide to the band Phish that sold over 70,000 copies. He also was a full-time journalist for over a decade, primarily as media editor of Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal. In addition to his volunteer work for HeadCount, Bernstein currently earns his living as Vice President, U.S. of Kangaroo TV, a Canadian company that developed a popular handheld media technology device used at sporting events. Bernstein oversees Kangaroo's relationship with NFL teams and other business development initiatives, while simultaneously managing HeadCount's fundraising, artist relations and strategic planning. Andy is a 1993 graduate of Brown University and splits his time between New York and Chicago.
